Week 8 (20-24 Dec 2011)


Today my supervisor Puan Maizatulshima will visit me. So before she come like usually i do my work until i received sms from her that she was on the way to office. So i was tell my HR executive, Fion that my lecturer will come to visit me.

After she arrived Fion was meet her and bring her to the tour in the office. Fion was show every each subsidiaries in my office. In this supervisor visit i need to give the feedback to her about my work at here, is there any problem here, explain about business company and so on.

With the compliment HR told to Puan Maizatulshima so far so good i'm here. Everyday come to work,never took M.C..Alhamdulillah...

Like usually from my previous blog report i was do the same thing. So,here i attached a picture with my supervisor,Puan Maizatulshima. Thanks Puan for your visit :-)

Week 7 (13 Dec - 17 December )

In this week Ah Kuan was teach me how to do courier. Because we have a small branch office at Kuantan, Malacca, Johor Bahru, Ipoh , Penang , Kuching and Kota Kinabalu so we need to pass to them some document such as payslip, P.O, Invoice and so on.

Other than that usually i will do OOS report for merchandise. After that,i need to compile all that data to prepare the document for meeting.The data will key in at Microsoft excel form and it will show to the figure of sales in November for Jusco,Giant and Tesco shopping mall. It will have a meeting with their Permanis representative at their office in Bangi

Another experience for this week also is Joanne was arrange with me to follow Evon (Operation Executive) to follow her to the meeting with client from Vit's Makanan Sdn Bhd. I am very happy because it is the real exposure and new experience for me to the working environment. Evon was show to the Mr Jordan (executive form Vits Makanan) about point of sale for the last month. So they was discuss something and request for the what we need to do in order to make their product is popular in market segment.

Week 6 ( 6 Dec - 10 December)

Today is the week 6 that I'm doing internship here.When i join work today Ah Kuan tell me that you have one new task to do.Which is apply shell card to staff.This card will give is for them for work out of office example outstation,outlet visit,attend meeting with the client,traveling and many more.Shell card amount use depends on position for example Supervisor just get RM 300 per month for their petrol limit, where Senior Operation Executive will get RM 500 for their petrol limit per month.

Another work for this week are like usually I'm doing stock replenishment where i need to key in proposed order for Kraft , doing price check, and doing shopping list product tracking. Other than that i also help Kelly to do Placement Template for RB project until end this week because it is a lot of work to do with RB project. Until end of this week i need to do Placement Template, Price Template and Promotion Template.

OOS also is the compulsory work for me.why? Because some of merchandiser still did not get HTC because they are still not confirm yet as permanent staff. After they be a permanent staff then they will get HTC. So my work will reduce also..

Week 5 (29 November- 3 December)

I'm doing internship for almost a month here. Everyday i learn a new thing, new exposure. Thanks :-)

So for today i'm start my work by check promo compliance. It is to ensure all promotion was do by merchandiser in outlet. They are several way for make promotion. One of them and most popular is by build the block and display it in selling floor. It is to tell the customer this product is on promotion. In addition it is also to build loyalty
customer on the product and create product awareness.

This week also i was given with one task which is audit. I need to do price audit for Fonterra project. Fonterra also is one of the client for Pos Ad group. Price audit for Fonterra is compulsory to do in every end of the month.

Like usually this week also i'm doing OOS report, Price check report, product tracking report to check expired product. And one more thing new task for me in this week are i need to key in proposed order form for Kraft.


Week 4 (22-26 November)


Today when i'm start working Ray Kok Wah, my senior operation executive was give me HTC :)..This smartphone is for me to do OOS report for Permanis project...OOS is Out of Stock..In OOS i need to make a daily report, so JUMP Retail and client (Permanis) will know the balance stock and current promotion.. From HTC merchandiser will update the latest stock finished and Sales Merchandiser are responsible to make an order...Well, technologies make the business fast growth :)...

By HTC also i can do price checking, key in Out of stock and also update latest expired product..All of the data is really important for client ensure their product condition...When i'm click the information then i will transfer it to the system...So client can view that from the system..Any request or suggestion they will interact with operation department..

Other than that i'm also learning how to make itinerary for Kraft merchandiser..This itinerary is for next month which is December..I will determine which outlet they need to go because i got already an email from client which outlet they create a promotion for next month

One more job for this week are i'm filing all the project report..I need also updating current file where the old report will be dispose (data that are not been use only)..

Week 3 (15 Nov- 19 Nov)

Every weekend i learn something new..In this week i do a lot of report for many project..Start from 15 November i was start do a report for Kraft, Southern Lion where they are one of the clients..At Pos Ad we are believe that customer is a "King" and because of that we are compulsory to fulfill what is their needs..For Kraft and Southern Lion i am need to make a report for every week and month...

I'm also re-check KPI for Kraft merchandiser to ensure supervisor make the correct evaluation on their performance and incentive payment...Other than that i think i'm do a lot of reporting where i need to do Stock Aging report for Permanis Sdn Bhd...

Then at the last for this week Ah Kuan was teach me to make competitors report..So merchandiser and operation department need to aware what is competitor do in order to compete with them in business

Week 2(8 - 12 November)

For this second week, I'm doing re-count KPI for merchandiser (Nestle project only)..KPI is Key Performance Indicator where it is to measure performance of merchandiser and supervisor also..For those who are follow the standard that has been set by company they will get KPI incentive where the incentive money that can reach up to RM 700 per month..Supervisor and Operation department are responsible to monitor performance of merchandiser...

After lunch (i am noticed that we can choose to lunch from 12-1 and 1-2) as long it 1 hour only I'm continue my work for filing KPI for September...After that i'm doing monthly report for Southern Lion and filing it..Likewise Kraft where i need to make weekly report for them...


Well until the second week end I just repeatedly making the same work of filing and also rates the report ..From my understanding, Jump Retail specializes in managing inventories, replenishment, product displays, point of purchase communication and shelving prominence and returns, all of which lead to the ultimate goal of elevated sales.

Week 1(1 November 2010 - 5 November 2010)

Today on 9 am I was report myself at the Pos Ad Group Sdn Bhd where this office is located at Phileo Damansara 2. On 9.30 Ms Fion Ow our HR executive was introduce herself to me and brief me about this company. This company was start it business on the 1986. For the beginning Pos Ad just concentrate on advertising at the shopping mall to create awareness towards customer. Nowadays the business was expand and under Pos Ad group they have 5 subsidiaries which is Pos Ad Media, Jump Retail Merchandising, Captivate Sdn Bhd, Offer Station and Paragon Premium. So Fion Ow was put me under Jump Retail at the admin department.

In this blog i will write about what is the task during my internship. For the first week i will share with you what is task that have been completed done by me. On the first day after Fion was introduce herself to me, she was bring me to the every table in the office and introduce myself to the staff. After that she was explain to me about the rules at this office, appearance code, and show me the journey of this company...:-)

After that i was seat back at my place. So Madam Joanne Lai who is in-charge person at admin department was explain to me about what is Jump Retail and what Jump Retail do. At there i meet my new friend, Ah Kuan, Margeret Phui, Jane and also Ying...

So on the first day, nothing much i do because i need to attend orientation after lunch hour. A little bit i know about business company.

On this first week internship (1 Nov - 4 Nov) Admin Executive was asked me to arrange supervisor and merchandiser uniform...That is a new uniform and i need to give to them the new uniform..After that i need to record return uniform and give them new uniform..I'm also doing filing for this week for Southern Lion (our client) report...

Other than that, i'm learn a new thing in this week...Margeret was teach me how to liminate..So in this week also i was liminate a lot such as liminate price tag, product name and bar code where all of this it will be hang and display in all shopping mall in Klang Valley (Carrefour, Jusco, Giant, Cold Storage, Tesco and many more)....
